Blog · 30 Oct 2026Indian Catering for an Office Lunch in Malmö: How Much to Order

Masala & More·30 Oct 2026·4 min read

For an office lunch in Malmö, plan on 250–300 g of curry per person split across two or three dishes, about 150 g of cooked rice, one and a half tandoori breads and one piece of Indian street food to start. Keep half the curries vegetarian. Masala & More, the Indian restaurant at Baltzarsgatan 12, caters office lunches across Malmö and the rest of Skåne; send the date, headcount and address through the catering page and we reply with a menu and a quote.

How much Indian food to order per person

Indian food is shared, so quantities are planned for the table rather than the plate. Our working numbers for an office lunch are 250–300 g of curry per guest spread across two or three dishes, around 150 g of cooked basmati or biryani, one and a half naan or roti, and a small bowl of raita and chutney. Start with one piece of street food per person, two if the lunch is the main event of the day rather than a break in it.

Two curries cover a team of up to about fifteen. Past that, add a third so the queue at the table keeps moving and nobody is left with only the dish they did not want. Split the curries roughly half vegetarian: colleagues who eat meat take the dal and the paneer as well, so a 50/50 split rarely leaves vegetarians short, while a single vegetarian option almost always does.

Bread is the thing offices under-order. A naan from a clay tandoor running at about 480°C puffs, blisters and disappears quickly; ours is made from a dough fermented for 12 hours, which is why it tastes of more than flour. Order one and a half breads a head and mix garlic naan with tandoori roti, which is wholemeal, lighter and better with dal.

Butter Chicken from Masala & More, the Indian restaurant in Malmö, a reliable centrepiece for office lunch catering

A balanced Indian office lunch menu for a Malmö team

A menu that feeds twenty colleagues without anyone going hungry: Butter Chicken (169 kr on our restaurant menu), Dal Makhni simmered overnight, Pindi Chana or Palak Paneer, bone-in Tandoori Chicken Biryani, plain basmati rice, garlic naan and tandoori roti, mixed raita, mint chutney and an onion salad. For a heartier table, swap the chana for Lamb Kadhai (199 kr), cooked with peppers and a coarse masala we grind in-house.

Every curry is built from scratch on a slow-cooked base of onion, garlic, ginger and fresh tomatoes, never canned, with garam masala, coriander, freshly ground turmeric and red chilli, and no artificial colour. These are the recipes the Founder grew up with in Punjab and Delhi, cooked the way they are at home. Slow-cooked gravies also hold their texture in a hot box, which matters when lunch is served twenty minutes after it leaves the kitchen.

Catering is quoted per event rather than from the restaurant menu, so the prices above show what each dish costs when you eat with us. For a lighter lunch or a standing reception, lean on our 13-dish Indian street food menu: Samosa (39 kr), Dahi Bhalla (69 kr), Delhi Special Aloo Chaat (69 kr) and Bombay Pav Bhaji (89 kr) are easy to eat with one hand and a laptop in the other.

Vegetarian, vegan, halal and allergies

About half the menu is vegetarian and many dishes can be made vegan on request, including the chana and the aloo gobi, so a mixed office is easy to feed from one order. All chicken and meat dishes are halal. Tell us about allergies when you book: gluten sits mainly in the breads and in some of the chaat, so a gluten-free guest eats well from the curries, rice and raita, and we can set those aside separately if you ask.
